Interestingly enough, I seem to always put up outfits based on what’s going on in my life. something I just realized as I was typing up this post. The pictures taken for this style post were actually quite impromptu, just like everything else I’ve had to do this week.
When I decided to start learning to just take things that were out of my control in full stride, life decided to test me as best it can.
I got all dressed up on Saturday because I was supposed to have a pamper day. My job as the Lifestyle Editor of Guardian Life Magazine (remember this) has been a bit stressful lately, and I need(ed) a day to just be taken care of. Personally, I don’t think this is too much to ask. But, unfortunately, I got stood up. I’m not even going to talk about it.
Getting stood p was fine, because I ended up spending the day following Deola around. And, of course, we had this impromptu shoot because I really was looking pretty fly for a semi-white guy.
And then this week at my job has been the most tedious. Plans fell through and we had to scramble to pull an issue together. Lol. It’s been trying having to put together articles last-minute and begging for content, but somehow we’re pulling through.
I’m not going to lie; old me would have broken down by now. I’ve wanted to just give up so many times, but I just keep going. This is really great, because it means I’m growing past throwing tantrums when I don’t get my way. Can I get an ‘Amen’, somebody?
All in all, I’m having a good week. Still riding that light, peace and love wave, and reveling in the bliss of contentment. I’m sorry, you guys. These pictures actually have me feeling a little hype. Lol.
I hope everyone is having a good week. How do you deal with impromptu situations where you have to adjust stuff you’ve planned for a ridiculous amount of time?
