Weekend Highlights – Mini Beauty Haul & An Awesome Store

Yaassss!!!!! I can finally put “beauty haul” in the heading of a post!!!! LOL! Mini is there, but all is beauty haul, please. Either way, let’s not get ahead of ourselves and start from the beginning.

This weekend was probably the least eventful of all I’ve had in the past couple of months, but it still had some pretty good gems. First, I got to attend a media hangout hosted by Sebeccly Cancer Care. It was very insightful, but also very thought-provoking. Learned all about cervical cancer and how it’s mostly caused by the HPV virus. [clickandtweet handle=”” hashtag=”” related=”” layout=”” position=””]Did you know you should start getting screened for cervical cancer as soon as you start having sex?[/clickandtweet] Apparently the specific HPV virus that causes cancer takes 10 – 20 years to actually become cancer – which is why older women are more at risk. Definitely got me thinking about when I should schedule a screening.

We’re still learning how to pose for pictures

After the event, Deola and I headed over to Lekki so I could buy some stuff. I’ve been talking about upping my beauty game for a while, and I took the first step by starting the 30Lippiesfor30Days challenge. For me, the next step was eyebrows! We went to the Gifty’s Daughter store at Wolly’s Mall in Phase 1 because I wanted to get this NYX brow kit and get the caterpillars on my face in order. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the brow kit so I got an eyebrow pencil instead. I also picked up two lip liners ^_^

I love the Gifty’s Daughter Box, BTW. It’s literally a ‘Cool Box’. But the size can give you inferiority complex if yu’re not buying plenty things sha.  The three items came to a total of N4500 (being N1500 each), and the lady at he store was very nice and helpful.

On our way out, she told us an interior decor store had just opened up and we should check it out. Had I known, I would have just kept walking. On the other hand, I would probably be regretting it right about now. I wanted to get plastic flowers to use in flatlay pictures for the gram (that none of you ever appreciate, btw) and so we decided to pop into the new store to see if they had any. They did. And a whole lot more, guys! This place was so beautiful, I knew I was in trouble the moment I walked in. The owner, Yvonne, was a total babe and a charmer. She has everything – the things I knew and the ones I didn’t.

We picked up a few plastic flowers and Deola almost had to drag me out of there. The store is called Nissi Interiors, and I will most definitely be going back. The items there are actually reasonably priced, and you can see the quality, so it’s somewhere I would feel comfortable buying stuff.

Seeing as I couldn’t get the eyebrow kit I wanted, I had to go get my eyebrows trimmed in a salon downstairs (same mall). Mhen, uncle definitely knew his work. Of course, I used my eyebrow pencil the next day so every one can see how awesome my new brows are ^_^

Finally, we headed to Stranger for JZO’s pop up store (launch? Not sure). We basically just hung out and checked out some of the clothes (one of which I was eyeing but can’t exactly afford right now). After a couple of drinks and laughs, and a delicious cupcake, we called it a day and headed home.

Hold on, boo! I’m coming for you!!

And that’s all I did this weekend. Well, I went to Iipaja on Sunday as per follow follow sturvs, but then I came back home and slept. Hope you had an awesome weekend. I also hope you’re following my #30Lippiesfor30Days Challenge.  Let me know what you think in the comments below.
